In short: 
Embers are a virtual currency for Dorenvar. They buy convenience and cosmetics, never power. They have no cash value, stay on your account, and can't be traded or sold. Payment is handled by Stripe and sold through Link.
1. Who you are buying from
Dorenvar is made and operated by Joshua Deason-Schroeder, an individual doing business as Dorenvar ("we", "us"). When you buy Embers, the payment is processed by Stripe and the sale is made through Link, Stripe's merchant of record, as shown on the checkout page ("Sold through Link"). Link's own terms and privacy policy, which you accept at checkout, govern the payment itself: charging your card, taxes, receipts and payment disputes. These Terms of Sale govern Embers and what you can do with them in Dorenvar.
2. What Embers are
- Embers are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use a virtual currency inside Dorenvar. You do not own them, and they are not money, a deposit or a stored-value product.
- Embers have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game, sold, given away, or moved to another account.
- Embers belong to the Dorenvar account that bought them and are shared by all of that account's characters.
- Buying, selling or trading Embers, or accounts holding them, outside the game is not allowed.
3. What Embers buy
Dorenvar is never pay-to-win. Embers unlock convenience and cosmetic features only, such as extra character slots. Nothing bought with Embers raises a character's power, skills, gear or progress.
- Unlocks are permanent for your account. A character slot you unlock with Embers stays unlocked, even if you later delete the character in it.
- Slots you did not buy. If your account had more than four characters when paid slots began, those extra slots were kept for free. A kept slot is given up when one of those characters is deleted, because it was never bought.
- The price of each item in Embers is shown before you confirm the unlock.
4. Prices, taxes and delivery
- Embers are priced in US dollars. Checkout may show the price in your local currency. Any sales tax, VAT or GST is calculated and collected at checkout by Link.
- Embers are added to your account once the payment is confirmed, usually within seconds. If they have not arrived within 24 hours, contact us and we will add them or refund you.
- We may change the price of packs or items, or add and retire them. Changes do not affect Embers or unlocks you already have.
5. Early access
Dorenvar is in early access, and characters and game progress may be reset. Your Embers balance and your unlocks are kept through any reset. If we ever cannot keep them, we will refund the purchases affected.
6. Age
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy Embers. If you are younger, a parent or legal guardian must make or approve the purchase and agree to these terms. Parents: if a child bought Embers without your permission, contact us; see the Refund Policy.
7. Refunds, reversed payments and abuse
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
- If a payment is refunded, charged back or disputed, the Embers it bought are removed from your account. If some were already spent, your balance can go below zero, and you can't spend Embers until it is positive again.
- If an account is closed for breaking the game's rules, for example cheating or fraud, its Embers and unlocks are forfeited without refund, except where the law requires otherwise.
8. If Dorenvar ends
If we shut down Dorenvar or the Embers store, we will give at least 60 days' notice in the game and stop selling Embers when we announce it.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you buy Embers applies to that purchase. We will announce material changes in the game before they take effect.
10. Your rights and the law
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA.
